Hello to all glad to be back it's been awhile had to have a surgery 2nd one in less than a year, just wanted you all to know that I didn't fall off the earth. I was out doing some geocaching with the GPS last weekend and was in Sutter, County between Hwy 99 and the Garden Hwy traveling from North to South, I saw several nice dogs in and around the creek areas and rice checks of this farm country. Just wanted to know if anyone has any knowledge of this area. It looks to me to be all privately owned or leased property, sure looks like good hunting. I know that some of you suggest talking to the owners / farmers about getting permission to hunt on thier property, I sure haven't had any luck at all with talking to them. I seem to run into owners and farmers that have our anti gun and anti hunting, not in the area I mentioned above but in other areas, and a good percentage of the ones I have talked to complain about damage and problems that other shooters / hunters have done when they did let them on the land. Sure makes it hard to convince someone that you won't cause a problem for them when someone else already has. Well there I go rambling on. Better get off this thing the wife is calling me Hmmmmmmmm.

I wondered what happened to you. A knee surgery? I need to get a couple of those done but a hip first. The places you speak of I hunted a lot when I was younger. But you are right about most of the reactions you get from the owners if you can even find them. As you stated it's the idiots that shoot everything up that they see out there. But if you can run into a land owner and really talk to him you have a good chance.

Just keep on asking and asking , was told no once and about a year later he seen me on his neighbors place and I was ask to shoot on his place . If they say no give them your name and number any way . and most important always thank them and shake thier hand even if they say no. you got to sell your self but not like a used car sales man.
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Yes sir there are a lot of nice dogs running around that area. That is where I do a lot of my shooting but a little more west. I have some people right on garden hwy that ask me to come and call behind the ranch but most of the dogs come out at night. One place I have seen a lot of dogs and would like to call is the bridge on 99 that goes over the feather river always see dogs mousing around down there but I don't know if that is shot gun only or if you can use rifles need to check but good spot.

Most of that area you're talking about is shotgun only. But where you see the cattle below the bridge is private property. I used to hunt ducks along and up the river from there years ago. There was also some of the best smallmouth bass fishing I've ever had in portion of the river.
