Hey guys. As I posted in another topic I am getting a Ruger Mark III Hunter for target shooting and eventually small game hunting. It is my first firearm and I get to pick it up tomorrow. I would like to go right to the range and shoot it without going home first, but is it important that I do anything to it first? I have seen some info on the net about getting some rust protection coating off of it or lubricating it first. What do you guys think? I've shot these pistols a number of times but haven't assembled, disassembled, or cleaned them yet. Thanks,Steve

I'd clean the bore first just to make sure there's nothing in there that shouldn't be. Other than that fire at will.

OK, you must have picked it up today so lets see some pics! :smiley_kewlpics:
My guns are mine, they aren't for sale, and I only give guns to people that I really like. So I guess the government is **** out of luck.
