This is a small group of some of this years turkeys that live around me. They are into the pecking order game now. They have several sparring matches a day in the yard out back.Posted ImageWatch out I'm a Kung Fu Master! :D Posted ImageOh Yeah! Look out I'm scary. :) Posted ImageThere are twenty-three in this group that strolls thru daily. Sorry I couldn't fit them all in the picture, just the ones sparring. They sure grow quickly. Seems they were chicks just a few months back.

neat. I was working by San Andreas a few weeks back and they was all over the place.
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Here's a shot this morning of one of my long beards. :D Posted ImageThey are really quite beautiful with the sun reflecting off of their feathers. B)Here's once struting his stuff for the ladies earlier this year. They sure are colorful and the blond one passed on her color to a couple this years young ones too. :) Posted Image

Pow! Pellet gun to the head... Like you, we also had zillions of wild turkeys roaming around the house, stopping traffic on the roads, and wandering up and down our long loop driveway. I know that "real" wild turkeys are not quite that easy to find, but still, the experience kinda turned me off to turkey hunting.

I have to agree. It's harder to shoot them seeing how they are. I know they get smart quickly, but the first time I hunted them with a pellet gun I got one in under 30 minutes. No, it wasn't one of my local birds either.

Ever consider setting up a decoy and watching it get beat up?

No, I send my neighbor's kid out for that. For some reason they don't like him and chase him. They're fast and he isn't. He threatened to shoot them.Posted Image I threatened him with the law.Posted Image They went after one of my roosters once but he's too fast for them and apparently got in a couple of good licks himself. They're buddies now.Posted Image

I seen a group of about 12 today on the AFB (beale) up by the base housing. I see them sometimes when I'm out chasing those yotes on Spenceville. All I ever have is my rifle but I do see people packing them out every once in awhile.

Yep, I had one nest under the oak tree in my front yard. It's funny though, when it's hunting season you don't see many or they don't let you get close.
