Ok showed up on this property at 7:00AM Last Saturday 2/25. The coyotes were holding chior practice.I was going to set up a stand overlooking a pond. But no need to. So I had my rifle, hand gun, stoney point shooting sticks. Decoy,Fox pro and remote. The yotes were quite loud.I came to a corner in the Barb wire fence. Saying to my self "Hurry I'll put the decoy here,no over there,no thats no good.No I'll put the fox pro here and the decoy over there. Ok where should I sit,oh sh-- I forgot my pad" Ok I'll turn the fox pro to Female invitation. Two minutes later 3 big yotes come charging in.Get on one (All three are scaning the area aying "Wheres that bitch?" I zero on one can't hold rifle steady on the sticks (Wasn't comfortable) K-POW Dang it I missed 125 yd shot. They took off like a squadren of jets.30 minutes later I heard one howling, maybe it was a warning call? I had too much stuff, got too excited.Next time I'm bringing my AR-15 with a Bi-POD instead of sticks(One less thing to carry)

Some times when you have to much going on and not comfy that happens. I like to always go in with some type of a game plan if at all possible if I have hunted the area and not new land. It sucks that he got a way. Shooting stick are nice I like to use them they make some small low calling chairs for turkeys and they work great for yotes too. Better luck next time.

Ironworker, don't be too hard on yourself... We all miss, sometimes a lot... In fact, I wouldn't doubt if one of my friends doesn't hold the record on missing coyotes. A few years ago he had a terrible streak of bad luck. At one stretch, I counted at least 7 coyotes & 1 bobcat straight that he missed. I didn't harrass him too much. Naw, not at all... Yeah, right! LOL It doesn't take much too miss... just a jerk of the trigger will do it... Any type of shooting support is always best if you have the time to use it... doesn't guarantee a hit, but ups the odds a lot. While I use an attached bipod on my deer rifle, I always use a monopod for coyotes. Works great for me.I agree on carrying too much stuff and is why (along with some other reasons), I no longer carry a decoy tbe majority of the time. Anyway, Cool story.... I laughed out loud... You'll get 'em next timeFrank

been there done that. :D
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.
