Tomorrow is closing day for our turkey season and I've yet to fill my tag. Been out after work every night this week. Been seein' lots of birds and still hearing quite a few gobbling. Called in a bird within 10 yds but but buddy was in the way. Never saw the beard though. Saw 9 birds in an hour and a half last night. Heard one gobble and we thought he was coming in. I guess the hen on the other side of him had other ideas. Had 3 legal birds walk across us as we topped a ridge but they were out of range and had spotted us. I'm still holding out for a mature tom and have passed on a total of 7 jakes. Come tomorrow though, I may lower the standards.
