Saturday Morning went on first hunt of property off Mines Rd in Livermore Ca. It is a semi thick Tree and low and high brush with some open spots. Many trails thru the brush. A few ponds 50 to 75 yds across.Feel like I'm in the Sierras with out snow.3,000 elevation.Set up a couple of stands (Coyote) at the ponds ,no luck.Land owner lives on the sumit says the sumit part is loaded with grey fox's and lower has coyotes.Saw a few Jack rabits tons of wild boar tracks. Any sugestions how to hunt this place for yotes? Land owner has 500 acres,at lower ponds elevation is 2500 to 3,400 at summit wear the Fox's are. Hikeing up to sumit thru the brush would be an awesome work out.I'm thinking of making some steel gongs and placeing them along the way zigzag up to sumit with targets scattered all about.... Should I just stick with rabit distress calls and Crazy bird calls on Fox-pro?

Well sounds like shotgun material. Has the land owner seen any movement or schedule that has been going on. The rabbit and bird sounds should work just fine but you might want to try a piglet in distress call if there are alot of pigs in the area and if there are deer maybe a fawn bawl.If you won't get busted by the coyotes is there anyway to set up a tree stand if the brush is to thick?

Well maybe. You knowe them yotes coulde be in the brush watch every thing. This area isn't hunted much so maybe the yotes wont know what they're looking at? I have a baby pig distress sound. Thanks

to be completly honest with you once you pass mile marker 14 good luck calling them in for some reason un benounced they do not respond very well get a 22-250 and sit on top of a hill and throw out some howls and see is anything comes around hand calls work the best. my fox pro has a kill count of zero and the cheap hand call from doms and a red desert mouthpiece with a custom cowhorn has done me way better

Fawn beats and fox barks with fox getting beat up by coyote.[ hand calls]
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.
