Got close again today. I actually didn't even call this one in. I saw 2 while driving in this little plot of land. It let me get out of my truck and get my gun, but it was a bit out of range. So I grabbed a mouth call and tried to get around them to cut them off. I yelped ever so often to get a fix on them. Man, one of them was gobbling freak. I ended up being a little late and not seeing a clean shot so I held up. Both were jakes. The one I would've shot was about the same size as the bird I took last year. Supposed to go out Saturday with the wife, but the weather report is calling for snow so we'll see. Did see some turkey's off the side of the road on some private land and managed to snap a few pics and get a few gobbles out of them.
