Got off work a little early around 4:00 and it was friday had to try out the new preymaster call I got. I parked off the road on a tree line that went about 500 yards down and ended in a large field that had some small weeds that were scattered maybe about 18" to 24" tall that extended about 700 yards and then a huge rice field that had stubble a good three feet tall. I spotted a coyote mousing around in the field a couple of weeks ago. So I walked down the tree line in a dry ditch as far as I could and set with my back against the ditch bank(this time I had my camo). Started with the cottontail distress went on for 60 sec. waited about 3min. repeated twice then I caught some movement at the end of the field. It was old wiley! I pushed the cottontail one more time and he came a running. He got to about 20 yards and the clall stopped and so did he I had him in my cross hairs and squeezed off, and down he went.Posted ImageNo white tip on this one.

Let me tell you doesn't suck. You can get spoiled with the electronic calls after using mouth calls your whole life. But good to know how to use both. I'm still curious to see if the crow calls will work on coyotes have never messed around with the idea anyone out there ever try?

The dying crow call works for sure. I've used my magpie call to bring them in too. I think any sound will work truthfully. ;)

I was reading a article about using magpie decoy's on coyote stands I don't know where to buy them but I bet you could use dove decoy's and just paint them same with flicker if you tried. Thanks for the info on the crow. I bought the crow card just incase good thing.

I went out to do some scouting went passed the place that I had got this one on Friday seen two more mousing around out in the field. Might have to hit it up again on monday. Last day of duck season this weekend to many hunters driving around to kill anything.

Especially up there like you said with the duck hunters. The landowners are more forgiving if you aren't shooting around their hunters.
