Last night i went out behind my apt. where there are plenty of coyotes even though it's somewhat residential. I was just scouting around for a place to call coyotes within bow range. No camo, and i took my bow with a light strapped to the stabilizer just in case i kick one up like i have so many times in the past. I was quietly walking and heard noises that sounded like people fighting in the brush it was so loud! I made some squeaks with my lips for about five minutes thinking maybe it was just some coons, but got no response. I headed back up the trail towards my apt. and quitly walking i ran into a coyote charging down the trail right at me! He was no more then ten feet as we took the corner and we ran right into each other. It scared me so bad that even though i shaved last night i could have shaved again that very moment! Every hair on my body jumped right up as he jumped scrared out of his mind as well! Hunting is the only sport in the world that can get my heart going like that. It was great!

I know the feeling I have had them come in hot calling and run into me and my buddies it does get your heart pumping and if your not ready and don't see them coming it can scare ya a little sage brush is the worst.

I shot one with a bow once when I was a teenager but if it hadn't been for my dog a Sheltie the coyote would have escaped. My little Sheltie chased him down until he bled out. That little dog was a terror on jack rabbits too.

NEAT I need to get one with my bow ! I just need to get one
all Im getting to come in are those silly red foxes
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

I have a video where they are trying to shoot grey fox in Arizona. The guy gets tired of trying so he grabs his rifle and shoots it. The only thing I shoot with my bow is Carp in the summer time. Now thats fun!!

I used to do a lot of that and you're right it is fun. We'd take my bass boat to Clear Lake and shoot hundreds and hundreds of carp at night. I had another great spot off of Lake Natoma but they built a bunch of car dealerships there and ruined my spot. The only thing I shoot with my bow is Carp in the summer time. Now thats fun!!

I used to do the same thing in Indiana with the gar. We hunted out of a canoe and in muddy rivers where you could get right up on them in the middle of the day. We did the occasional fly fishing for them as well, but it isn't quite the same.
