I went out coyote hunting yesterday with my hunting partner, Tom. We didn't get one, but we saw a lot of pretty country. I still think being out hunting and getting skunked is better that not going at all. Tom and I are rookies to coyotes and I am still learning to call. I guess I don't "speak the language" quite right, but I sure like trying! Got a couple to answer back and had the crows and one ticked off hawk come in on the rabbit call. Thanks to all for your posts and pics. I've been reading them and enjoyed it. Good hunting to all, Jeff
Skunked, sort of..

Funny you should ask! Most of the "coyote hunters" I have run into up here tell me, "Oh yea, I hunt coyotes, if you call I'll be glad to go with you!" When I ask if they call I get, "No, but you shoud buy one of the electronic callers.
Their worth the money. Why no. I don't have one." LOL
I have been been buying dvds and tapes and learning. Also been driving my dogs nuts, (not to mention the wife) working on my calls. Got the distress rabbit down but my howling is still a little off.

If you're lucky, they'll leave you a steamy hot pile of scat on the trail as they run away laughing at you.
