Hey Gang - We sure knocked the stuffing out of the Ducks the past few days in the Los Banos area. The first couple hunts I made sure that I went after them Green Wings for the freezer and then I went after the big ducks.I’m having a problem sizing the pictures up. I’ll post up some more pictures as soon as I figure what my daughter did to my PC.. Arrrg!Oh, I did not shoot one spoony! This was an ID and kill hunt. You literally could take you're time and pick and choose what you shot. 20 years of Waterfowling and this one is within the top 5 trips for me.Attached File  1.jpg   25.88K   8 downloadsAttached File  2.jpg   29.47K   10 downloads

Yea! Looks like a great day of shooting and some great days of eating coming on. Nice going.

Very nice! :pirashoot: Nothing like a good duck shoot. My father in law belongs to a club up in the Butte sink. 640 acres of some of the best duck shooting I've ever had. It's nice like you say to be able to pick your ducks. Not like hoping you get some. Those teal are so tasty too. We had some last weekend that we did in our old Komodo Pot BBQ. Mummmmmm good! :signs653wf:

That's awesome, Arise. Great job knocking them down out there.I just got back from my last day. We had a terrible season, less than 100 ducks between 4 of us. Driving the trailers home was kinda sad today. :smiley-innocent-halo-yellow: I already can't wait until next year.

nice job. I saw a flock of geese fly over the farm to day they looked like they were headed towards los banos.

Right on! I went out this morning but that dang south wind had the birds in "getheheloutahere" mode. I only got two greenwings. :smiley-innocent-halo-yellow:

SO I ended up going out again today even though I thought yesterday was my ender. I was out on a friends club and ended up with this as my bag. Not a lot, but worth it. 2 Cans and a Widgeon, and I lost a green head unfortunately. Sorry about the dirty garage...Posted ImagePosted Image

I got out on Saturday, but only got a Spoonie, and some guys in a boat tossed me an unwanted Coot. REALLY slow day. Only got 2 shots off.I was at Don Edwards SFBNWR (Alviso). Most others there didn't do much better than me.

Jeff your garage is clean! I forget what the floor looks like in mine. Good job of getting the geese. That made for a worthwhile trip. My father in law couldn't get to his club because his boat is already there and the roads were flooded. :signlol2iu:

Nope, I cleaned 'em. I'm not big on taxidermy...I guess i don't consider myself a "trophy hunter." I eat what I kill...though, bobcat, bear and possibly some decent coyote might work their way into pelts some day.

Thanks. And funny about your father in law. This was my first time on this club and I had a blast! It's a small, very private club where they have boat in floating and pillar blinds. It was the best hunt I've had in my years of duck hunting and I only came out with the two geese and Widgeon.

I'm glad it's over. Slowed down with all that south wind but now on to some skiing and fishing. Arise what kind or duck is the black and white one you're holding in your left hand? My guess is BuffleHead?

It's got to be a Bufflehead Dale. I can't think of anything else with that distinct coloration.

Yep. I had plans to get my 7 drake Green Wings and then I couldn’t contain myself when this guy flew over. He is going on the wall. The following day I went after the big ducks and folded a Canvasback, 4 Greenheads, Widgeon and a Gaddy. This is a better pic of a Bufflehead where you can see the green & purple...http://www.pbase.com.../image/56007247Good Job on them Honk's Jeff. :) I did not kill 1 goose this season and now we have to wait 9 months until it starts back up. :)
