I am on another forum called Custom Predator Call Makers and Collectors Association. It is populated with Predator Call Collectors and Predator Call Makers. One of the things currently going on is a trade. Everyone that is interested has signed up to submit a call for trade. After the deadline, names will be drawn, by two's, and the two people will exchange calls. There are a bunch of really great looking calls up for trade and I though you may enjoy seeing the one I have put in for trade. It is a Big Leaf Maple body, with laminations of Walnut, Ebony, Bloodwood and Osage Orange. My call doesn't come up to the standards of some of the other makers, but I am pleased with mine.

That is a neat looking call.. Definetly unique! I went to that site and OMG that place should be banned.. Hubby will kill me if I stay there too long cuz Ill be spending money big time... LOL> Ill have to go back again later when I have some money LOL BTW are you still looking for paper shotgun shells? I have some..I think around 15 or so? I know there are around here somewhere They arent used....

That's a nice looking call Lynn. With all those different colors it kind of reminds me of the olympic rings symbol.

Very nice. Have you ever made calls from Manzanita? I cut some down on my property and the grainis beautiful.

I have but the problem is that as Manzanita drys it cracks really bad. I had a chunk about 6" diameter and 4 feet long. I started cutting in 4" lengths and finally, after about 4 or 5 chucks, got one that I was able to get one piece from that was not cracked. It made an interesting call. Very nice Braz.Do you make Duck/Goose calls? If you don't, you should.Do you remember the open reed call (the replacement) that you made for me? I can't remember the name of the wood. I think the first one was Diamond wood (sp)? Anyhoo, I have shown that call to many hardcore duck hunters. To ALL of these guys, a good duck call is like an appendage of there body. I always get really nice comments on the quality of work that you put into them. In the waterfowl world, it seem's like many of the manufactures are going acrylic. Don't get me wrong, 80% of my W/F calls are acrylic, but there is just something about a top-notch quality wood call that is “custom made”. Anyways, if you don't make them, I just had an idea here. What if I sent you out a couple of my favorite acrylic duck calls after the season ends? Could you come up w/ a call that the gut’s would fit right in snuggly and blow as good or better? You could put your own personal touch on it & I would bet money that you would get a lot of business. Duck call manufacturing is a huge industry.

The logo is the same as my avatar. Bobby(Quade) made it for me. It is really slick. I ordered some water transfer paper, that prints on my ink jet, and now I can put logos on the calls. I like them. After putting them on and letting them dry, I put a light coat of model airplane clear dope on. It should make for a really long lasting logo. I have only been doing this for the last week or so.A big thanks goes out to Bobby. If you need anything like logos or business cards or anything like that, get in touch with him. He does a heck of a job in designing things.

Lynn made me 4 very nice duck calls a few weeks ago. I seem to have misplaced the pictures of them though. I kept one and gave the other 3 to my hunting partners. They were single reed, and loud as heck. Feeder calls were extremely easy and alarm calls as well. It is hard to beat an expensive acrylic double reed for manipulating a "real" duck sound, but as you said...there's something about a custom made wooden call. My buddies all liked them very much.

As long as the guts are removable, I see no reason why I couldn't make a call that would work. You would then have two calls with one set of guts. Sure, if you want to give it a go, send me a PM when season is over and we will work something out.

Thanks for the reply about the Manzanita. I love the handwork in game calls. They are modern art.

buy a mini lath and spin away harbor freight has them for 100 bucks or so.
