The wife and I on one of our trips to our place near Ely came across an Emu in Edwards Valley on HWY 50 last year. It was pretty friendly and we decided we didn't need to eat it. Somebody did finally shoot it but I don't think it would be too sporting as I could have just held my old 22 PistOliver on its head and killed it. Like I said, it was a pretty friendly bird. Was told by a girl we know that raised them that they were dark meat and kinda beefy tasting but she didn't care for them. Interesting. We now call Edwards Valley "The Valley of the Emu."...Walt
