Well the duck hunting hasn't been great due to this great weather we've been having. Sat. we got out to the blinds to watch the fog roll in. Shooting was marginal and we ended up with only 9 ducks between the two of us. (No Boot Lips) One was a Drake Blue Wing Teal, I've never shot one in Ca. so I was really excited that it was in good shape and will make a beautiful addition mounted in my Duck Room. :1rock1oo:

You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

That will really set your duck room off. We are supposed to have some weather later in the week that should help the duck hunting.

Good for you! What area did you fold this duck? Was it solo, paired up, or in a group? Most W/F’ers like to shoot divers and big ducks, but I really like to hunt these fast flying rocket bombs. Also, the Green Wing Teal, IMO, is a close 3rd, right behind the Canvasback & Sprig inregards to roasting. The Blue Wing Teal is my notorious nemesis. I'm still skunked after 20 year's! If money was not an issue right now, I would go to Florida or even Honduras to hunt them. If you took a picture of it & you have a minute, please post it up.Congratulations.

We saw a blue wing fly right over our heads at the beginning of the season. Almost made my buddy cry. We did pretty good this Saturday too. Better anyway, 13 birds for the three of us. All divers. I've got a great reservation for the 22nd and plan to get limits a piece (but now that I've said that we're going to get skunked.)

I can sure see why you want to mount one of those. They are beautiful.

Sorry no pic and it's in a nylon in the freezer. I'll post a pic after I get it mounted. John's pic that he posted is great. Would love to get the hen to go with it. The hen is very similar to a hen cinnamon teal. The story from the bioligists in the grasslands is that we are developing a little local breeding population of bluewings which is kinda cool. I have to find a new bird taxidermist, mine moved out of the state.
