Well my friend his daughter and myself went to the DFG sponsored hunt and had a great time this last Sunday. It was a brisk 26 degrees that morning but warmed up soon after the sun poked through. The event was well organized there where volunteers with dogs and without from Quail Unlimited helping us all out. We borrowed blaze orange vests and where given a safety breifing and some practice shots. Then our hunt started at about 8:30 am. It was great to hunt over a dog its amazing how they find those birds. I was really spoiled because I usually hunt without a dog now I want one. :rofl2: Well the three of us got our limits of 2 birds for this hunt. We all had a great time especially my friends daughter her first time ever hunting pheasant. Anyway here are a few of the pictures.Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Nice! It looks like everybody had a great time. It's hard to beat hunting over a dog that's for sure. Glad to see the young lady did well. It's nice to see DFG do something like this to spark a little interest in hunting. I'd have to give a big pat on the back to Quail Unlimited for helping out too. :rofl2:

Those are some nice looking birds. You just can't go wrong with a good dog! Getting the kids in the field is the best. This year is my granddaughter's first pheasant season and she is having a blast. She drew out for a DFG hunt opening weekend but gave up her ticket to hunt with family.Truckeedan
