Amador County, near Jackson.....We usually have a lot of turkey in our area, but this year seemed to be a little better than the rest. There were about 50 birds in this field alone.

Looks like around my place LOL... Turkeys are as thick as fleas... Constantly have to watch that they dont fly across the road in front of you, Ever hit a turkey doing 45 to 55 mph? Lets just say it makes quite a dent in the windshield or bumper.. Over near my moms house the flocks are decimating peoples flower beds and such LOL. Having 50 or so turkeys lay a path thru a neighbors landscaping is sooo fun to watch...

My dad hit one on a freeway just outside of sacramento doing 65-70... It looked like a cannonball went through the front windshield. The turkey ended up in the back seat, however if it would have impacted about a foot to the right it definitely would have killed him. Yeah 50 turkeys can do a lot of damage to a yard... Which is pretty funny to watch as long as it's not your yard that they are destroying haha

That's a nice group of turkeys. It is amazing how fast they have taken over in California. The first turkeys planted in California were planted on a then friend of mines ranch in Merced County. That's about 30 years ago now but not that long considering how they taken over.

Wow, what a group of turkey. We hunt out near Ione and the flocks that we've seen aren't quite that big.

Jeff Thats cuz they all live around Valley Springs... Ive seen as many as 200 in a group.. That is when they used to hang out in McPhees pasture across from teh olive orchard.. Now there arent that many there, but still Way fun to see.. Now they seem to get in smaller groups but there are TONS of them....
