Well it was back to Willows on Saturday. Seemed like there were a lot more hunters in the field than on opening weekend. I guess the weather must have scared some off for the opener. My son and our Lab pheasant machine "Riva" hit our favorite field first and Riva did her magic putting up seven birds in the first three checks we hunted. If we could have shot them all we would have finished before 9:00 am. We did manage four of the seven.Just as we were starting the hunt the land owner drove up, wanting to make sure we didn't start befor 8:00 am. The conversation got around to Coyotes and he told us that everybody up there has had problems with coyotes this year. He had seen two just before talking to us. He told us to kill any we came across. Even I could figure out that this was the opportune time to seek permission to hunt coyotes on his property. When he found out I was a coyote hunter he gladly gave me permission to hunt. I asked if he wanted me to use a shotgun only and he said "Use anything you want, just kill all of them."With everyone in that area having a problem with coyotes it seems like a great opportunity for some prime hunting.Truckeedan

Nice score Dan. That should make for a great winter hunting area. :signlol2iu:

Braz,Should be good until they flood the fields. As soon as they plow, it will be prime as it will stur up all the rodents. The mud up there is something else. Walking with a 20 lb block of clay on each foot gets old quickly for a old fart like me.Dan

Good going. We heard them down by Maxwell all over the place.
