Well, we have basically every other bird as a thread, so I figured I'd ask about quail. For some reason I can't access the regs online. Can anyone tell me the date of quail opener? I believe it is fairly soon.Thanks.

How is the quail hunting this year? I think it will be the only bird I will be able to hunt when I get home.

My season has been pretty good so far. Our quail hunting area is very limited but we've managed to bag a few with and without dogs.

awesome jeff..i aint got a bird dog..i hunt quail the good ol fashioned way..I dont have anywhere to hunt valley quail but i can sure get into alot of mtn quail...I call them by mouth (whistling) works pretty good...I do alot of driving around when im trying to locate my dogs and run across alot of quail just by covering ground so i remember where i saw em at and can usually go back in the general area and call and get em to answer back...They sure are alot of fun to get after and are mighty tastey
