Well landed in kc friday monring around midnight, met up with my cousin.. we drove the next morning to calbelas cause i haven't been to one before, almost walked away with a new gun cause of the instant fbi check then they asked where i lived so they said they have to ship it out here.. after we had out buffalo burgers for lunch we headed out to western kansas where we would be hunting for the weekend.. on sat. we went out early to meet up with everyone else had a nice little 2x2 buck run across the road infront and a couple yotes.. around mid morning i bagged my very first pheasant of my life, then no more than 5 mins after that i had my second.. Posted Imagei didn't get anymore that day i think our big group took close to 20 for the day.. sunday everyone was laggin from walking the huge fields of crp grass up to our heads at times and thicker than anything i've walked through. In Kansas road hunting is legal.. its pretty fun driving along the road looking in thicket for roosters.. even funnier when i yell out theres one and my cousin stops the car, opens his door and forgot about his seat belt... lol he never heard the end of that.. All and all we had a great trip and im making it my annual trip for opening weekend pheasant.. Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImageThis was something to see flying at you.. lol.. no my cousin said he just wouldn't go to sleep.. i feel bad for his kids..Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

Nice story and great pictures. I love the color of pheasants. They are such a beautiful bird. And good eating too. Exactly where did you go to hunt? Was it a hunt on relatives property, a guided hunt, what was it? Inquiring minds want to know!

well it was a mix of private and wiha (walk in hunting area) which is just that the gov. pays farmers to let a piece of their land for hunters.. but we had a cousin that lives in the middle of farms and fields and he knows everyone so he already had permission, so mainly private land.. but road hunting is fun.. if u haven't tried it go someplace its legal and do it.. Ya it was so hard coming home.. i love it out there.. im planning on moving there within 3 years.. i cant believe how big of a house on alot of land.
