That's a great family heirloom! There are still people who can ring test damascus barrels. I couldn't keep that beautifull side by side out of the field. Some goex "black dawge" loads would probably be mild enough put ol' betsy back in buisness.Correct. But this shotgun is now retired and will not be shot.

I agree, but my father isn't much of a bird hunter and doesn't wish to hunt with it. When it is passed on to me I would love to take it back to South Dakota and hunt pheasants with it like my grandfather once did and loved.I couldn't keep that beautifull side by side out of the field. 68 downloadsIt's actually called a Flues Model Ithaca Double 20 ga manufactured in 1913. It was my great grandfathers gun given to me by my grandfather. I redid the checkering on it in high school because it had been worn down to nothing. I just read that Baker started Ithaca. But this gun is very light and points and swings faster than almost any shotgun I own. I only use it for quail and pheasant because that's what my grandfather gave it to me to shoot. It's had some use but is still extremely tight especially for it's age.

trust me you don't want to look at mine its bad! has no forearm. At the next BBQ we should have a clay shoot. We all do so much yaking about our varmint and predator rifles but our scatterguns don't get to much attention. Between Crankyfarmer and his Baker, Shoot-it and his L.C. Smith, and our pair of Ithacas we've got a nice little collection of classic american bird guns. I'd be interested to see what some of the other members have tucked away in thier closets.
