Went out for the opener on saturday first thing in the morning saw a ok buck on the horizon above me at about 70 yards did not feel that was a very responsible shot so I let him go over the hill. I tracked him down or what I thought was him sitting on a hill side watching me at about 150 yards when I moved into position he jumped up, I whistled and he ran faster I whistled again and he stopped I shot and missed just in front dog poop!! well he ran over the hill of course. Later the same day my buddy spotted one about 500 yards sitting under a tree next to a doe, I stayed on top of the hill and he moved down and around and got into about 70 yards and squeezed off a round hitting right in the neck the buck just rolled over nice shot the buck was a 2x2 with a very thick body. The next day we saw two more spikes but no takers, came back to the area on wedensday at first light my buddy saw two deer right below us at 100 yards moving out not sure if one was even a buck but we decided to sit here and watch where they went, they went down the hill and sat down next to a tree at 500 yards i decided to move around the hill and come up just below to see if one of them was a buck. When I got down there they were gone so I thought I saw them about 200 yards moving out and guess what one was a buck 2x2 he was ok but I decided I would try for the shot. I moved paralle staying for the most part out of sight while running up and down mountains trying to get a shot (wishing I had taken the 200 yard shot) finally he stoped walking fast and I was able to move and lay prone and take a shot from across a ravine guessing about 225 yards (I want to go back to find out exactly) took the shot and put him down. Not as nice as the buck I shot last year in this area but Its still great to fill the tag two years in arow. Both bucks were taken within a half mile of each other.Attached File  1.jpg   33.25K   17 downloadsAttached File  2.jpg   31.01K   17 downloads

Good going .
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.
