Stupid question? Just thinking out loud here? I have 2 Rem 700?s in .30-06 and no 300 Winnie mag. Does anyone know if that action will work if I swap barrels to the 300 win. Mag.?Thanks,

take your bolt out of one of thim and see if the 300 will fit. im thinking yes you can but i have not tryed i now my gun smith will do the 30-06 to 300 swap and the 7mm to 300.try the bolt tho that will tell you right away.

I don't have a bolt for a 300 Win Mag (may need to borrow Steve's?) to try it? I thought that the .30-06 Bolt might work? Guess not?thanks,

no no.....you got it all wrong..LOL take your 30-06 bolt and a 300 shell and see if the 30-06 will hold it.the 30-06 should hold it ill call my gun smith for you.

i called him and he told me that the bolt face needs being opened up,magizine-well being lengthend. he says the easy way is to sale it and get one in 300. he say he can do it tho.

Shadow in 300 ShortMag.Less than a year oldIncluded is a Leupold Rifleman 4-12x40, mounts, rings.Also RCBS Dies and some loaded ammo and some reloading componants.He is asking $600.00 for allI have no Idea if that is a good price, just passing on the Info.

Two good books: "the complete illustrated guide to precision rifle barrel fitting" by John L.Hinnant.You can order that by logging onto www.brownells.com, about 35 bucks.All the black magic, and rocket sciencewill be revealed, throw in another $5 and get the Brownells gunsmithing parts catalog. Thats going to costyou more money that you can imagine, there is more good stuff in that catalog, than the S.I. Swimsuit issue.
