Got into the blind about 5:45am. Saw 12 deer, no horns. At about 10:15am we decided to climb out of the blind and walk the perimeter of the property. My friend Rick went one way, I went the other. He saw deer, I saw deer, brought the grand total to 18. He also walked up on a small black bear that was eating blackberries. He estimated it was about 125 lbs. After we met back up we hiked back to were he had seen the bear and on the way we saw a group of turkeys, 1 gobbler, 2 jakes, and 8 hens. Even though we didn't see anything with antlers, we had fun and I consider it a big success!

That's awesome! It's nice to get out and see critters whether you get one or not. If it was to easy what fun would that be?

Wes, that sounds like a great day. You are obviously living in a great place if you can walk out the door and see all those animals. You will get that buck yet!

I'm not. I'm going to sell all my guns and hunting stuff, use the money to buy several pairs of birkinstocks, some tie-dyed shirts, a couple pounds of granola, and a mountain bike. I'll become a vegan and spend all my time protesting against issues that don't effect me. Alicia Silverstone has changed my life!!! :signlol2iu: :lame: :peta: Seriously though, I still have like 7 more weeks to deer hunt, why should I rush it by bagging a little forkie? This isn't California you know!!! :1087:

I thought that you just couldn't bushwhack the ones on your home place. Cause, they're like, you know, petas. :signlol2iu: :1087:

Hey, I wear Birkenstock's :signlol2iu: and what's wrong with tie dyed shirts I wore them all the time in the late 60's and 70's. Heck I think I still have a couple. But they wouldn't fit, they shrunk! :signlol2iu: :roflmao3[1]:

...anyone around you putting down the bucks?

We heard 1 gunshot just before sunrise (a little TOO early if you ask me) and one about an hour before sunset. I'm sure the guys up in the hills east of me did some good because it was snowing going over the pass to Bend on friday and it's been raining all last night and all of today here. Snow level was supposed to get down to 4000 feet friday evening.
