I just read in the new Predator Xtreme that Remington has a new trigger that will be going into the 700's and 7's starting next year. It is a safer trigger and can still be adjusting by a Remington authorized agent down to 2 pounds with out voiding the warranty.

Let me grab the article, but the only improvement I saw was in safety. It is called SPL (Safety Pivoted Link) With the new trigger the safety blocks the movement of the sear AND the trigger. Appaently there was a prior possibility of the gun going off in instances where a depressed trigger did not return back fully and the saftey was then released. I hope that made sense!Yes, you can still have the current triggers altered by an authorized rep and not void any warranty.
