Well, the yote hunting didn't pan out for me this time. We got a late start heading back up on thursday afternoon and sonora pass was closed so I did't get to hunt til friday morning. I set up on saturday morning and wouldn't you know it, a good sized black bear came to my calls.

The first time I've ever seen a bear in the wild and he's fiftey yards away, hungry, expecting a jack rabbit dinner, and all I have is a 17 rem.!

I stood up to let him know I was there and he just looked at me curiousley, so I took a step twards him and that's all it took to send him running. The weather put the kaibash on the rest of my yote hunting time so I spent it trying to help my buddys fill thier tags.
Thats great you filled your tag. Nice buck how much did he weight you know the saying you can't eat the horns. it's better than tag soup. good job on the coyote looks fat !
He was just a little dinker. He only hung 95 lbs.. Good thing those barnes bullets don't ruin any meat!Hey SJ, I just noticed the "chief feathercloud" rank. Wes gave me that nickname after our first crow hunt together!
