Went down south Brawley California on to some of the public fields, wheat field. Scouted it out on friday afternoon the amount of doves was truely amazing, Saturday morning had my limit by 7:00am it was a great hunt. The next day saw less doves but was still able to manage nine before heading for home at 9:00am. It was sure hot!! 118 saturday and about 113 on sunday, also the wardens were out in force but they sure were freindly this year I thought they did a great job on management of the public fields. When ever I see such great rewards I dont mind paying so much for a hunting license. Sorry no pics I think my camera would have melted.

That is awesome on a few accounts. Fantastic that you did well and awesome that your interaction with the wardens was pleasant.

Just got back from Yuma, dam it's hot down there. Lot's of birds, limits with usually 6 Whitewings plus lots of those Euro Asian Collared Dove. No limit in Az. for them now and the season is open year round but they don't seem to eat as good as whitewings or mourning dove. Think I'll go down again when it cools off and help them control the population some more. Grin

I think I got one of those collared dove last weekend. It was about the same color but way bigger than the average mourning dove, the tail wasn't as pointy, and it had a black ring across the back of its neck. Does the bird I got sound about what those collard birds you shot look like?Just got back from Yuma, dam it's hot down there.
