Hello everyone Im' new to calling. I grew up in Kansas and we hunted yotes with greyhounds went out for the first times this last weekend on the mojave with a friend that has been doing it most of his life. Had a great time. Didn't get anything the the first weekend I was shooting my buddys 223 and shot over everything that came in (8 dogs) but my buddy saved me and took three. I went and bought some 55gr rounds for my 243 and sighted it in and took it out this weekend called in 5 and I got 2 but that 243 sure blows the dog poop out of them couldn't even take pics. We also called in 1 bobcat but it was out of range for my buddy's shotgun and I didn't have a bobcat tag and my buddy didn't want we to blow it up too with my 243. We both used electronic callers in one spot we were about a mile apart not far enough I guess because he had one comimg in and I must have turned on my caller during that time and pulled the dog away from him and never saw it. Any badvice you guys can give would be greatly appreciated.thanks

If you are in Kalifornia that must have been a crow. I'm SURE it was a crow. I had to be a crow. Better check the regs. Good luck with the calling.

Ravens are a No NO! with anything, but crows shotgun in season unless you got the secret. Dale

Ravens are larger and have a curved beak, crows have a squared tail. Ravens are more often seen separately and crows group together. Once you've seen the difference you'll know. :(

Dale, you knew what I meant.

Where do most of you Hunt northern, southern, out of state hope I ain't being to nosy its just realy weird to have people come forward freely with info. Usually when I'm out hunting the people that I run in to are ---holely and really don't want to talk to you. I sure hope they don't ever go back to Kansas and act that way people back there like to take that kind of stuff personal if you know what I mean.

I work for is out of Redding and they don't want me to come up there I think its because the hunting is good and they're afraid I'll want to move up there and they won't have anyone to cover there socal operations again
