Hello Peeker seeker,What I was told,by a guy at the NAHC forums, that he's seen plenty of bear sign,in camp at Ice House. This was last year. This guy lives in the Sac/Roseville area. Anyway, a 50 mile radius...As, for my situation ($$),this should improve soon.My TAA,for the displaced workers, should see the claim form in a few days. And get my license and possibly, tags. If you're on your way past Del Monte cannery, stop by when you have time.Sure ain't gonna bite ya.Got all my shots for rabies, distemper, etc. :signgreatreport3kg: Did I mention,I'm house broke ? :signs1180lq: The ranger station up around by Arnold is helpful. I'm not very familiar with that area.I'm somewhat more familiar with D-6,Deer Creek,a ways past Twain Harte. You might check with DFG.They had PDF's,break downs for each county, number of tags, and the take. This will give you a rough idea of the best areas for bear.Hope this works.http://www.dfg.ca.go...eartake2005.pdfThe last 2 years,we were up around Cabbage Patch.(D-3-5)Wasn't too fun: logging trucks all hours of the night. Not much sleep. No BF's running around either. Don't know what's it like now.Might take a trip up there,or if you know someone in that area, you could ask them.

personally, I have seen many a bera in D3-5 zones. I don't have experience in D-6. Opening deer rifle season last year, saw 5 bears in a 5mile radius. 3 bear 350lbs plus ....

Yep I hunt deer in D6. But was thinking of D5 for a change. I Will still hunt D6 with an archery only tag though. Thanks for the info., And that bear tag will still be good for D6 and D 3-5. and all over.

Many of the guys I hunt with seem to see alot of bears in the cherry lake area. The longbarn area is always full of bear sign (after the prickley berries ripen the acces roads are full of red bear piles), but it's also full of bear hunters so that might make things rough on a guy whos hunting without dogs. For some reason I'm always the guy who just misses the bear sightings.
Sharps, the rifle that made the west safe for Winchester!

Real tractors have two cylinders and hand clutches.

My rifle is mine, it isn't for sale, and I only give guns to people that I really like.
