I can see now that I didn't do any favors by leaving out some points / things that I should have mentioned in my first post on my caller. When I received it I could not get it to work at all it made no difference if I turned on the unit itself or tried with the remote nothing worked. I immediately called Wester Rivers the number on the back of the owners manual. This is what I was told the units are shipped with only a partial charge to the battery some have more of a charge than others, they do this for a reason that has some thing to do with the battery developing a memory etc. anyway I was told to charge my unit which took 9 hrs after that I didn't have anymore problems with it other than I couldn't get the remote to work correctly at least in my opinion. Two other members on here have had the same problem with the remote on their units and I wrote replies to them telling them what I did to get my remote to work. First I removed and cleaned the battery then replaced it, didn't seem to do anything. after that I took the unit out to try it out, after getting to my set I walked out placed the unit about 70 or so yards from me and tured it on manually walked back and got out of sight turned the remote on and it worked after doing this a couple of times my remote has been working perfectly every since. I hope that this helps if some of you have this problem. The other thing that I wanted to mention is that the staff at Western Rivers are truly sincere and extremly helpful. If your having problems call them at 1-800-967-0998. Oh yeah it stated in the owners manual that the remote works in line of sight from the unit so if you hide it where it can't receive a signal from the remote it won't work. Ken
