Just got the Wildlife Area Map Booklet from DFG and it list several areas toward Clear lake and Ukiah region with BLM areas in the 50-80,000 acres size. Just curious to see if any of you have been up that way. I know there are plenty of pigs in that region, I'm guessing there are yotes and foxes also. Not alot of people up there. I flew up around there a bit and I know some of the terrain in pretty rough. There is plenty that is very doable.I know people have talked about being a little closer to home (Vs Gerlach). This is 2-3 hrs outta Sacramento. Depending on exact locations.Just throwing it out there...Scott

I've poked around a little up there and it's mediocre hunting at best. 90% of it is VERY steep and rough terrain, lots of chapparal and manzanita up to your waist and so thick you can't even walk thru it. The few areas that are a little friendlier are visited quite often by hikers and dirt bikers. It doesn't hold a candle to anything you'll find in NV. That's my personal experience.
