My three sons and I put in as a group for X7B tags every year. We have three points and haven't drawn out since the point system started. Prior that we drew out 5 years out of 6.Last time we did draw for X7B, we killed four bucks on opening weekend. It's no trick to kill one up here unless you are blind or just don't go. The trick is to get a tag. My granddaughter is in the drawing for a junior tag in X7B this year and she has a 50/50 chance, which is much higher than we have with 3 points. X7B has less tags available than any other unit but it has the highest kill ratio. It's not uncommon to see 100 to 200 deer a day if you look in the right places.I kind of liked the old system of the blind draw. Less anxiety involved. I believe there are only four or five places in the unit that sell licenses and applications and this last weekend one of my sons bought the last license and tag application in Truckee. If I don't draw this year, I think I'll get a refund and stick to birds and coyotes.Truckeedandang it!! ha! congrats on that one...thanks for the well wishes...funny thing before the point system, we had a close friend who drew an X zone like 4 years in a row and we didn't...but when we did, we got our limit. guess we just got flagged in the system
