I love your nick! for sure one of my favorite all-time cartridges!Yes, the locals hunts doves for the thousands!! and they are kinf enough to leave some to our friends, the foreign hunters.Once down here, they got a special fever that makes them coming for some more. :signlol2iu: I must confess this is not my favorite type of hunting, but a close friend of mine, runs an operation almost centered on does ( of course, plus big-game ) and is total fan. Thousands of locals go bird hunting, geese, ducks, you name it and they put them down.If you want more details, please let me know.regards, Gus

Hey Bzzrd Feeder what is the name of the outfitter you went through? I was there just this past year for pigeon with my grandfather and the shooting was amazing, not to mention the great food.

Dang, that is an unthinkable amount of birds. Have to jam the barrel in water to cool it off.

The key is to take 2 if not 3 guns with you so the bird boy can load them in a rotation!!!If your useing pump-action you might as well sign your own death certificate before you go.Drop down to 28 gauge or even .410 you'll still kill as many birds "makes you a better shot too"Most gas operated auto's will have to be field cleaned in the middle of shooting, they'll start jamming. That's why I shoot nothing but O/U Browning Citori's down there.

Thats awsome way to go.
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Yes I have two 20 ga. Beretta 391 teknys that I let the bird boy load. The first time I was there my loading thumb got so sore I was in PAIN! Lost my thumb nail after coming home. The trouble with dropping down to a .410 or 28 Ga. is they don't make too many autoloaders that are tough enough for the abuse that a gun gets with the high volume shooting. An over and under in a small bore will torture you, believe my I have both and they kick more than the 20 ga. auto. We use a outfitter by the name of Gage and the ranch we hunt is in Santiago del Estero ? Spell? Cordoba is the most popular area and I tried it a few times, it is easier to get to than where we go.

Attached File  DSC01036.jpg   63.39K   49 downloadsAttached File  DSC01075.jpg   53.09K   52 downloadsA couple pics from the pigeon shoot...we went through Paco Riestra.... When you go through that many shells I just fells as though it's a little too much abuse to use an automatic. Anway just thought I'd share a couple of pics. The locals that I talked to said they did shoot but that it was usually too much and that guys like us leave plenty behind for them. Besides the birds, the beef over there was amazing as far as food goes.
