After trying most of the basic brands I have come to rely on reloads with Hornady Interlocks for my '06, 270, 7 mag, and 7-08. Have had great results on many deer and pigs. I have found they are the most accurate in my rifles.

Couldnt agree more with 4 RHUNTS Hornady 180 grain in my 300 ultra mag has been the best bullet by far. Great shocking power and accuracy. :signs1180lq:

I used the Hornady SST in 180. Very accurate but I was not pleased with the damage done. I shot a small boar and it blew a softball sized hole for the exit wound. Currently I am using 165 grain Nosler AccuBond. I am very pleased with the bullet's performance. I saw what happened with this bullet in a boar that was about 200 pounds. The performance was great.

Nosler 140 gr. Accubond for my .280. The polymer tip and boat tail make for a great b.c. and it's a bonded bullet so it doesn't fragment like the Ballistic tips sometimes do. Not cheap, but well worth the price. Plus if you want to know if your gun will shoot them well but you don't want to spend a lot of money, just buy some ballistic tips in the same weight bullet. Their cheaper and, from what I've seen, shoot exactly the same.

I'll be loading some of the new Barnes MRX's for my .270 and my 7mmSTW this off season. I'll let you all know how they shoot.

I'm slowly converting over to Barnes TSX bullets for heavier guns unless I need a soft bullet for something, then I use the Nosler Partitions or Hornady interlocks. My antelope load though is a Nosler Ballistic Tip because the gun really likes them.

As it stands now, I have been using factory loaded Federal Premium 30/06 in 180 grain. It performs well on paper and on game. I believe the bullet they use is a Nosler partition, maybe. Now that I have consumed all but the last box I purchased, I plan on reloading. With the talk against led, the environment, global warming, Hillary running for president etc, I believe I will go with the Barnes Triple Shock X bullets. As long as I can work up a good load with TSX's I can't see any reason to load a led core bullet. Sooner or later for what ever reason they are finding ways to phase out led. First waterfowl, then indoor ranges then the Condor nesting areas and now possibly any where a Condor has cast its shadow. It's never going to end because it's just another form of gun control, no place to shoot= no need for a gun. So its Led free for me, until they produce depleted uranium bullets in .308/180's :harhar1[1]:

So, you would mix lead with the depleted uranium for a double dose of haz mat?? :harhar1[1]:

A box of 50, 30 caliber TSX runs about $32 while a box of 100 Hornady bullets is about $20.Practice becomes more expensive

Agreed. But once I work up the load, sight in and practice I won't need more than two boxes. How many /06 rounds will I need for the rest of my life Deer hunting, 50 maybe? Wild Bore, 20? For $12 I'll just go with my gut feeling that lead will be dead in the future. All newly developed military rounds are "green" what does that indicate? Hey, I could be wrong but led free is what I plan on loading, it's just my opinion, no big deal.

I've been shooting 165gr Hornady Interbond bullets over IMR-4350 in a couple 30-06s. That bullet brought around two rifles that were darn close to getting rebarreled because I couldn't get anything else to group under an inch.

Interesting, do you intend to use them on big game? I have not read any data on Berger's as far as terminal performance was concerned. How do they perform? I do use Berger's in my 22-250 and love them. I was under the impression the he just made match bullets and a few varmint match bullets.

If very well come to that point here in CA. But some of the big game no-lead bullets on the market today sure look as if they have potential.

I have used the Barnes Triple Shock bullets to take both Elk and deer (.270) with great results. As with all bullets, some rifles like them better then others. Great penetration, opened up very nicely, and made pulp of the boiler room.Darren

I had a bad X bullet experiance a few years back but from what I've heard the bugs have been ironed out and I'm ready to give them another try. I'm going to load them in my 270 wsm and my .275 Rigby.

After trying almost any bullet from the major makers, my big-game list is reduced to just two :Barnes TSX or CT Fail Safe. While others like the Nosler BT or Hornady InterLock, are under some circumstances not at all a bad choice, the mentioned bullets are almost perfect.I mean, great accuracy ( hunting, of course ) and excellent on-game performance. They give me one of the most important, underrated, and rarely mentioned factors, SELF-CONFIDENCEbest regards, Gus
