The wife came home today with some information from her co-workers. I guess a couple of the older guys at her work do a little hunting. They were telling her to relay to me that Turkey hunting in March is a green light in the CNF. I have not looked into any of it yet but was wondering if any of you have done any of this? If so where? Thanks

A N Y W H E R E! Turkey hunting is probably the most popular type of hunting in San Diego county. If you want to meet some of your fellow hunter's go out on opening day. I haven't done the turkey thing because it's such a circus. If you really want to hunt Turkey...private property is where 90% of them hang-out...start knocking on doors.

San Diego has only one Turkey season, and that's in the spring. The San Diego chapter of the NWTF holds a turkey tune up each year with activities, information and hunting reservations at Lake Sutherland. You can get more information at http://www.sandiego....utherland.shtml.An article in the local paper had an article about the robust health of the turkey population in San Diego county. http://www.signonsan...7m23turkey.htmlPersonally, went out last year on opening day for turkey and ran into a crowd. Let's just say the atmosphere was less than amicable. Not for lack of any effort on our part. It may be a Southern Cal, San Diego or Turkey Hunter thing. Suburban angst? Who knows? Usually have found hunters elsewhere to be rather congenial and friendly folk.If I see you out there, I will be sure to wave and even chew the fat if you are up to it.Flaccid B
