Hello,I was looking at the DFG website and can't locate any information on when the cutoff is to put in for a deer hunt, specifically x5a. I know this is a draw hunt, but can't seem to navigate my way through the dog poop on their site. Anyone have any idea or suggestions on finding out when the cutoff date is?

I don't think the 2007 date has been released yet, but I know the 2006 date was June 2nd.

I think you're right. Thanks for the reply. I just figured they'd have it out now but I suppose the shorter notice the better in terms of fewer people putting in for it, at least that's my hopes.I don't think the 2007 date has been released yet, but I know the 2006 date was June 2nd.

fatbody,Nothing comes out until April of the hunting-calendar year. In April you'll be able to buy your new 2007-2008 license and within a couple weeks they will mail out the 07-08 hunting booklet and update the new info on-line as well.California is much different than WY and some of the other states who start their application process Jan.1.Good luck on your draw,S&S

I think the application deadline will probably be June 2nd again as it was June 2nd in 2006 and 2005. I applied for all my 2006 hunts on April 20th of the year...so the ability to apply will probably fall in April again as well. S&SI don't think the 2007 date has been released yet, but I know the 2006 date was June 2nd.
