Went to the club today with my nine year old son. He has just started going this year unlike his brother who has been going since five, he's now almost thirteen and his interest is started to go in other directions. Anyway this is the little one's third trip and he is hooked big time. I bought him his own calls and lanyard and my wife is going nuts since he's been blowing calls nonstop. Well today was the worst shoot but my best hunt. We were alone in our blind from six forty five until we left at almost two this afternoon. He never got tired and never stopped blowing the calls the whole time. I eventually got seven ducks but they were not cooperating very much. At one point I missed a relatively easy Pintail at about forty yards and my son said, "maybe you need to get your shotgun sighted in dad." I was pissed about missing the duck until he said that and I just couldn't stop laughing.Well thank God for spoonies or this would have been a featherless trip. As I am typing this he is on the upstairs computer on Cabela's web site while blowing his duck calls. Here's some pics.
