Well we knew we should have a decent hunt With a number 27 resy for Sacramento NWR this past Sunday, but little did I know it would be a dream come true. We took blind #52 and I managed to rake down my first and probably my last California Eaglehead. Talk about exciting. We managed to kill 22 ducks, 9 snows and a blue. One of the snows ended up bein banded. Most of the ducks were big birds. We each got our sprig, buncha gaddys, and a few mallards. And we just couldnt pass on all the spoonies that came in, so a nice pair died. We could have limited out on snows but we ran out of shells with about 45 minutes left of shoot time. That is when the geese started comin in hot and heavy. I also finally killed my first drake bufflehead, I know, nothing special to most people, just a glorified ruddy duck, but hes gonna look great on my wall. I havent been able to hunt nearly as much as last year since I only have Sundays off but i have had a decent season. How bout you guys. pretty cool looking bird. looked like you had some fun.
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

We've killed a bunch of blues in OK. In that area it seems like every other Snow Goose is a blue.

Yea the bird is an eagle head cause it has a dark body and a white head. Just a nickname. Yea I was pretty excited about it, still am actually. I am goin to mount him flyin with 3 snows i think it will look really nice when I get around to it. They are not an uncommon bird in other parts of the country. I am plannin on goin to canada some time in the next few years, but i am glad i popped one in California, makes it that much more special.
