Here's another tip. If you get an animal that you want to do a full pelt on and can't skin it immediately then put a stick of some kind about a half inch in diameter in its mouth to hold it open. When rigor sets in the mouth will be open, which makes it a LOT easier to cut the lips.

THAT right there should be the GOLDEN Rule! OMG I learned my lesson QUICK..It sure doesnt take long for those jaws to lock down... Lets just say they aint coming open for nothing until about 3 days later... So that tip is definitely a GOOD one! Yes I learned that the hard way LOL...
