So this morning I had to go check on my dads property, didnt even think to take my rifle. All I took was my off duty glock and my new puppy a four month old pitbull cane corso mix. As im walking the premeter, I hear my pup growl for the first ever, he starts barking and attempts to make a run for some bushes 20 yrds away. All of a sudden a coyote comes out from around the bush looks at us for the longest 2 seconds ever and then takes off. The whole time my pups trying to get off his leash and go after it as hes barking and growling. The moment I saw him my adrenilen started pumping and im thinking great I been trying to call in a coyote for ever with no luck but when ever i ride my bike around town at night I see them and no this just my luck. For a moment I was scared it gonna charge my pup.

Now you have a Coyote alert alarm.
Dogs always seem to know they are there before we do.

Very cool! Sounds like your pup may be hooked now also!
Now, don't try to get away! I am more muscular, more cunning, faster, and larger than you are, and I am a genius. Why you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten.

Take your dog when you go calling, keep him on the leash and have him sit next to you. Better eyes, ears, and nose than any hunting buddy

Coyote dog in the making.Have him on the leash next to you until he's grown. When you get one then turn him lose to help find it, even if you see it .
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

That's awesome. Taking mine soon as he's had his rabies shots.

Make sure he is doing something fun when you are shooting. Even just play fetch with him while someone shoots off in the distance. Playing fetch with a frozen bird or rabbit is even better. If he has enough prey drive you can be shooting over the top of him by the end of the day. My pup was 6 months old when I introduced her to gunfire, had her flushing birds and I could shoot over her on the 1st day.
