Im headin up to Discovery Bay this afternoon to do some striper fishing tomorrow morning. Ive never fished there before, but from what I understand its some pretty good fishing. Ill post some pictures when I get back

You will be right around the corner from Grant and I, I am in Brentwood, and Grant is in Oakley.
I am fishing a six pac Sturgeon derby Friday.
Just a local derby with three of the local guides. (More towards Pittsburgh)
I will try to remember the camera.

A Little place called Mac's old house.
They have a great Prime Rib, in fact all their food is excellent.
They serve a minestrone soup that is really good.
They also have a great calamari steak.
The drinks are all very low price, even Doubles, and triples.
The owner is a friend of mine, and has been for many moons.
I would nor recommend it if I didn't think it was above and beyond.
I know you will not be disappointed.

There is a place just as you get into Disco Bay. Its just called the Steakhouse I believe. As you turn in just look to the right in the very first shopping center. Macs Old House has much better prices.

We didnt make it to Macs we got up later than we wanted to so we just went to the steakhouse an sports bar right there in discovery bay. It was pretty good but it was a bit pricy. the fishin went pretty good we caught a lot of fish but no monsters. A lot of the fish were just under 18 inches. I think the biggest one in the group was 25" and about 8 lbs. It was a good little fishin trip ill post some pictures

I agree with you guys, stripers are my favorite white fish. Great photos. I'm going to try this week for stripers on a fly. going to be throwing clouser minnows.

We were using shad. And defintely the bigger shad you had on your line the bigger hit you got.
This was a company fishin trip and the group of guys who went the day before us, one of them pulled in an 18 pounder

You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Very nice stripers , here on the east coast the season for keepers ended yesterday . I myself had a great year caught many ,here they have to be 28" to keep . Just my opinion but 28 to 34 " are best eating and all others go back to breed. They are such a fun fish to catch and have had many great fights , i also love releasing them as much as keeping . My favorite way to cook them is marinaded in italian dressing and grilled in tin foil ,the meat is so tender and flavor filled thanks for sharing .chris
