Yesterday Yateswell and I, went Hwy 58, scrounging for some dogs. Its been a long time since either of us had been out there, and now I remember why........there isn't much there. First stand was aprox 6:15, last stand 4:07pm The first 4 stands were a blank, and it had been getting hot, I usually carry a small backpack, with asst gear( Fx3, camera, phone, facemask, gloves, knives, pruner, hand calls,TP,) and more LOL. After stand #4 I had,had enough. I decided to go simple, handcalls, camera, stix, and rifle. Fast and light. Stand # 5, Yateswell to my left, started with the Braz double reed,at about 6 min mark, caught sight of this female coming from my 2 o'clock. She held up, maybe 60 yds out, I gave a very light lip squeek, and she continued coming in moving across to my left. She held up again, 1 more light lip squeek, and here she comes. She stopped, directly lined up with me and my rifle, staring intently, at us. I pulled the trigger and......... @#$%!!! I hadn't fully disengauged the safety, flipped it forward, squeezed the trigger, and she dropped liked a sack of potatoes, tail twitched twice, and that, was that, done! The round entered at about her lower neck/chest area, maybe golf ball size wound, didn't notice an exit. We saw 1 more dog all day and it was leaving the backside of a stand, after 20 min of calling. Its was a long day, Dec 1st and still hotter than we like, but together, we managed to connect on a decent coyote.

Congratulations! Good looking coyote! Were you east or west of Tehachapi? I hunt east and there is not much!
Now, don't try to get away! I am more muscular, more cunning, faster, and larger than you are, and I am a genius. Why you could hardly pass the entrance examinations to kindergarten.
