Here's some picture from the hunt.

I was hoping to encounter any of these.

Here some of what we saw at the butcher shop.

Totally agree Ed. That's why they call it hunting. I have 3 doe tag. I had a chance to shoot one but can't bring myself to do it.Well Rommel it is all about the hunt, not weather you are successful. I am sure you had a great time. Success is just the icing on the cake. I am sure you agree. Ed
Tom, those cows were a curious bunch. They followed us around everywhere we went. There is a lot of meat on those slow does with the yellow ear tags.

They get bored out there in the field and love to follow people around. One ranch that I hunt on here has horses and mules and they are way worse, trying to pick up the E-caller and generally getting in the way. When I go out there, I get a bale of alfalfa and spread it out away from where I hunt to keep them busy for an hour or so,

I wish they would open up California hunting to does not just on special hunts.
I see over-population in some areas and we might be nearing the same deadly deer-to-car collision risks as some East Coast states.

I tell you what; Pay my trip next year and I'll shoot all those does for you. Deal!So you will shoot a buck at a feeder, but not a doe to help control (over)population???? OK............ I must be missing something?

I'd rather eat my tag than shooting a doe. My buddy's feeder cam has been seeing some eye popper. I'm hoping to encounter one of them but no luck.

Life is too short to hunt with an ugly dog or gun
Maintain a balance of nature, use a beautiful gun when shooting a beautiful bird
