Had a hard working 3 months sprint and hunting afterwards was like God blessing...
Decided to visit one of my favorite hunting spots.

Traveled a lot and was captured by night in my VW wagon.
The cap of hot tea and dreaming about early morning hunting kept my attitude extremely positive and I placed myself on the top of my car-bed with enthusiasm, waiting for sunrise hours....

4-30. New day started. Hot tea with a sandwich made my body Ok and ready to start. With first light I started to scout area, looking for fresh rabbit signs.

8-00. Found very fresh marks. Started to look over the area using my binocular, moving slightly, looking around and moving again.

8-30. The piece of eye found a moving. My arms reflected the action, but little bit slowly, jack was a bit away from beginning and moved too fast between bushes. So I missed him.

9-00. Figured out the possible area of jack location and started to move around.

11-30. Located the jack from 200+ yards distance. Continued going around the area

12-37 (that time captured exactly) - jack was found at ravine and got 2 shots in his direction. First one I missed as jack jumped aside so fast. Next jump was much more predictable and It was easier to place the shot well...

Returned home with fresh meat and next day prepared a yummy stew.

Eaten with a glass of white wine :)

Hey Slon it has been awhile since we last heard from you. Nice to see you are still out there and got some rabbit for dinner. Stew is a great way to have cook jack rabbit. That's a nice dinner setting you pictured.

Hi, John,

Thanks for comment. Actually I had a tough time between old job and new one, so was out of mainstream (had only range practice)...
Now much more flexible and ready to action :)

Next weekend planning dove hunting.

Rabbit and dove go very well cooked together in a crock pot with some watered down Italian dressing  . Good luck.

Nice going. Im not a stew guy but that does look good.
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Very nice! I like to Stew Jacks also, or do cacciatore with them, they need the "low'n'slow" treatment.

Yep I agree on the low and slow. Stews and braising these sorts of meats in a crockpot or Dutch oven can make anything taste great.
