I have been moving and working out of town and will be on a job that I can not leave for 8 months. Just bought a new to me house and the way every thing worked out I have to move twice in three months. One move is done. Supposed to get the new house by the 15th of December. Any ways I sent my step son on a hunt in Oklahoma with his uncle for 10 days and God knows I would love to be there with him on his first deer hunt. His mother and I gave him two Camera's and told him we wanted to see every thing. I hope he does well. I have done all I can to teach him how to hunt. Still giving advice from miles away. LOL Here is a couple of pictures. I hope there is many more to come.

Best of luck to him and sorry you could not be there. I could not imagine putting all the work into teaching my nephew last year and not being there to see his first bird hunt. My heart goes out to you. All you can do now is hope you taught him well, as I am sure you did.

By the way, what's he using for the hunt? Always curious.

Yeah, that has to be driving you bananas not being there. But at least you taught him well, I am sure, and he is also in good hands with his uncle. And, he is getting out to participate in the greatest sport on earth... hunting!

Great post and cool pics... Thanks for sharing

Bisley He is useing a Savage 308 that we bought him for an early christmas present. He can kill quite a few deer on this trip if he wants too. He says he wants to get a big buck a small buck and a doe. He has set the bar pretty high for his self. Still waiting for this mornings report.

Boy I would be wanting to call every hour to see how he 's doing if he got one or not. :good:
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Congrats to both of you. His smile must wrap around his head and your chest must be stuck pout so far that the buttons popped off your shirt. And rightfully so on both accounts :signs1180lq:

Well it is not a big deer. But he is proud of it and it is a big one to him. One shot at 135 yards. Here is the picture. Cell phone pictures suck. I will post more when he gets home.

Absolutely terrific! So who is prouder, dad or son? Sorry you could not have been there physically, but I am sure he was thinking about you the whole time. We were raised by a stepfather that will always be "dad" who also encouraged outings (camping, boating, fishing, etc) and hunting, and I will tell you first hand how lucky he is to have you as a dad. :signs1180lq:

When they stop asking what's for dinner and start bring home dinner they cease being fine young boys and start becoming fine young men. Congrats again.
