Went hunting with my future son in law in the B zone. Saw 4 bobcats and he shot one nice one. Headed back up there next week to try and fill his late season deer tag. What call should I buy at BassPro to try and call one in for myself??
Also saw 4 bear but no color phase ones to shoot for me. He missed a med size black one. I will be looking for a color phase or a black one over 500 pounds. I already have a very good large one that went over 450 pounds and do not want to shoot a small black one.

Why buy one of those plastic ones from Bass Pro. Contact me or Jawbreaker and get a hand made call tht will be a lot better for your needs. And probably at the same price or less than from BP. Just a thought.

I have 4 or 5 Jawbreaker's Calls, they are awesome. Dont have any of your calls Braz, but maybe soon.
I started out with some plastic Primos calls and just didnt like the sound and feel of them. No doubt they will work, just didnt like them.

If I remember right, BP does not have a real good selection of mouth calls. I could be mistaken, but is what I seem to recall. If I were buying one from a store, ALLPREDATORCALLS.COM on the net would be very hard to beat IMO. Hands down!

However, I still can't believe I've never bought a call from Braz... maybe due to my owning so many calls as it is? Maybe? Anyway, I think one of his or Ron's would be an excellent idea.

Rabbit distress sounds brings in bobcats (& mtn lion)... and bears too, but only from what I read and hear on those / no personal experience calling in bears in other words.

Good luck

Here are a few that I have had good luck with.

The line of Dan Thompson Calls
The wooden Lohman calls
The Verminator line of calls (Syco Tweety, Tweety and Long Range Tweety)
Haydel Calls

If you're using electronic, I'm a huge fan of using bird sounds for calling cats. It works great on coyotes as well. Just a little something different blasting out there than the usually rabbit death cry.

PM sent. I have no idea what the difference is and which would be best for a first time dummy and something that would be carried in my pocket/on the dash of my truck etc. Also which one is easy to use and most durable?----Doug

Thanks Frank adn Eric. I just got off the phone with doug and the closed reed is what I suggested and it's on it way to him. Don't have a double reed made up, so just a cottontail is what is going to him. That should do the trick. and I also told him to blow it softly and keep his eyes open for the doe that thinks you are hurting her fawn. They come in and are mighty mad.

I carry one of Braz's double reed for the loudness and his single when I spot a coyote that coming in and I want to call a little softer. Called in my first coyote with his calls, worked great.

Doug sent me a PM and said the call arrived today. that was fast, I just mailed it yesterday. Priority Mail, but wow, the ol PO really did their job. Glad it got to him before he takes off on Monday. Hopefully, he will be posting a picture of a Bobcat next week.

Not sure if you guys got your buck yet or if the season is still even going. But thought I would chime in to use your predator call to call deer. Just like predator hunting, head out and do stands and call like a bleating fawn, the Doe's will come a runnin and the bucks will be hot on there trail. I got to hunt late season when I was 12 with my dad, we did that everyday for the season and called in numerous bucks which allowed me to pick the biggest buck we called in. I eventually harvested a buck we saw crossing the road and it ran off. We backed down the road 200 yards and walked to where he was last seen running down the hill with his doe. we did some calling and 2 min later the doe was in view and 30 seconds behind her came the buck... Now he is on the wall. =)
