Hi everyone, I am new to hunting and I am wanting to shoot some rabbits and/or coyotes. I live in Fontana, CA. I know that most people are not in to giving away good hunting spots, but if there is anyone who wouldn't mind sheding some light on some locations to a new hunter, it will be greatly appreciated. Heck, maybe we can meet up and shoot together some morning or evening. I know of one spot that looks great but I didn't see anything when I went, but then again, I only went once for about an hour. I understand if no one wants to share, but if you are willing... Thanks, and happy hunting!

Try the Natl Forest north of you. Several legal hunting areas there. Not great, but about as good as you can find on public land in So. Cal. Check this shooting map link for legal areas: http://www.specialdi.../2/FishandGame/

You could head in any direction from Fontana... North towards Ridgecrest &/or up the Owens Valley...Northeast towards Barstow, East towards Blyth... South to Brawley and points beyond (all these locations). You'll need an out of state license if ending up in Arizona.

Another suggestion is MAPS... lots of maps... both BLM & National Forest. They will show you both private and public lands, access routes and some water sources. After that, it is just getting out and hitting the dirt sorta speak.

Research the archives on this and other forums. For coyote hunting, check out the "pinned" threads at the top of the Predator section of this forum. Could also order 1 or more of Randy Anderson's dvd's from "ALLPREDATORCALLS.COM" on the net. One (of many) of his dvds I like is called, "Mastering the Art", the 3 hr version.

OH, and welcome to the forum...

Good Luck
