I'm going to bed dang proud tonight! In the last few minutes of available light this evening, a small buck dropped into our line of sight and my son made a perfect 100 yard shot to get his first deer ever! Wahoo!

The season was complicated by him falling and breaking his left arm badly about two weeks ago. I knew he could make a good shot with just his right arm/hand but we had to wait until the pain in the broken arm wasn't the focus of his every thought.

Of course, after the deer was down, I immediately made a couple calls to friends who dropped everything and flew to our aid :-) It was really fun to see how proud my son was of himself when the friends got there, saw the cast he's got up to his armpit, and started asking whether I shot it or he shot it. Then when he said he shot it, they gave him huge congrats. He was beaming and so was I!

Hey thats great. That would make any Dad proud. :good: Got any pictures
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Recon, glad your son got his buck. That's better than getting one yourself. I know I was awful proud of my grandson as I am sure you are of your son. Tell your boy that this old man up north congradulates him on being a good shot and having the guts to continue hunting with his broken arm. ED
