Just got this little guy a few days ago. He's about 9 weeks old, tough, and smart as heck. Going to start training him in a couple months, and hopefully he'll be ready to decoy in May. I take him to work every day, and we're never apart. His name's Tommy and he's an Australian Shepherd. Already tries to herd my two other dogs when we go for walks.

I really didn't want a pup, to tell the truth. Prefer a dog that's grown already, because having a pup is like having a baby. He wakes up around 2 am, and keeps me up the rest of the night. But puppies are fun and grow up eventually. We looked for a grown dog but couldn't find one, and I was dead set on getting an aussie shepherd, so got lucky and found this guy. My wife wanted a puppy anyhow. He doesn't replace the dog I lost a month ago (Big black lab named Billy- died of natural causes at 9 yrs old), but makes the pain less.
Taking him quail hunting tomorrow, but he won't get in the action. My wife's going to stay back at camp with him.

Great dogs . You can teach them any thing. And they realy never slow down.Going to start looking for mine after the holidays.
You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Aussie Shepherds are about the cutest puppies in the world. One advantage to a puppy is you can start training them early and really bump up that learning curve.
