Called, shot, skinned, salted, tanned, sewn, worn...any questions?!

I also had made a bobcat bomber hat, a bobcat trapper hat with leather bill and a set of coyote ear muffs.

You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

I can only take credit for the calling, shooting, skinning, salting and wearing on these hats. I sent the salted skins to Golden State Tannery. I flat out would not recommend them for tanning. They lost one of my skins, sent me someone else's skin, and never followed up to solve the problem. Since then I've been working with a taxidermist that has mentioned a couple of nightmare stories from GST.

Once I got the tanned pelts back, I sent them to Wild Things Fur in Wisconsin. They charge about $35 to turn your tanned hide into the hats the girls are wearing. They do real good work and I would definitely use them again.

I had a trooper hat like the ones the girls are wearing made out bobca and it looks real good. Also had a bobcat trapper hat made with a leather brim...very nice!

Those are cool! I'm just getting into pelting. So far, I only have done the standard dry on the stretcher which came out really good. Before, I used to just take the tails and debone them- but now I'm really into getting the entire pelt. Next, I will try tanning one so I can make something out of it. I bet those are warm!

Not sure if I'll make my own tanning solution or use store-bought stuff. Probably just try a brain tan on my first one to see if it really works.
