Buy from foxpro or a registered dealer that can load sounds. I bought mine from cabelas and it came pre loaded. Live and learn. There are a ton of sounds I would've left out and others I would've added. Do yourself a favor a buy from APC or Foxpro.

Spend the extra and get a Firestorm over the spitfire it's quite a bit louder than the spitfire IMO.

One friend of mine has the Alpha Dog and has high praises for it... so far! Also, the Alpha Dog receives high reviews on various websites, better than Foxpro actually. This same friend has owned 4 or 5 (I lost count) different models of Foxpro, and likes the Alpha Dog better, again, SO FAR!!!!

I personally own 2 Foxpros & am happy with them, like most folks are (I assume).

Go to Foxpro's website and one of the sound lists shows favorite sounds by hunters input. Lightning Jack, DSG, coyote pup screams, coyote distress #3, female greeting / interrogation, female invitational, 2 or 3 male challenge, growling coyotes, various rodent distress & others I can't think of. In fact I have likely said some of these incorrectly, as I am just going from memory, which left me years ago. So, take some of this with a grain of salt in other words.

You can go through their list(s) and hear the sounds that sound best to you. Never mind the coyote, he'll come anyhow. Maybe! LOL

Good Luck

Good job on the song dog. If you are like alot of the others on the site you are hooked and will want to try almost everything in calls. Do not forget the hand calls also. Keep up the quest.

Gray fox distress has to be even or better than lighting jack. 25 sounds with the spitefire works pretty good.that alfa dog from primos sounds pretty good to.

I wonder how their customer service is at Primo's? It's pretty hard to beat the service you get from the guys at FoxPro.

My thoughts exactly John. Those Alpha Dogs have not been around long, and it will be interesting to see how well the Customer service is when repairs are required. Now back to the original post, Congrats on the Coyote! Get those pics posted! lol

I had a problem with my FX3. Foxpro basically rebuilt it at no cost tome even though it was out of warranty. Poxpro even paid the return shipping cost. :good: :good:

You can hop but you can't hide. Yahi Bowmen. Its not how far you can shoot but how close to the game you get when you shoot. Sights we don't need any sights. Why waist time reloading when I can be making arrows.

Lots of guys hunt with AR's. The .223 is better suited for Yotes than the 17hmr. The 17 obviously works, but the 223 will put them down more consistently and have more reach.

Congrats on the coyote! Good job. I hunt with an AR. I put the lower together (JD Machine- good price, holes nicely chamfered and all edges deburred nicely- unlike many cheap lowers). Got it from Turner's for $100 or $120. I believe the parts kit was around $60. Then, I put a two-stage trigger in it from Rock River Arms, mainly because I also like to target shoot- but it's a nice trigger. Slapped a RRA Predator pursuit 20" upper on it. The rifle's on the heavy side, but I'm used to it now. It shoots 3/4" MOA. I have a Nikon M-223 3-12 x 40 scope on it. I don't recommend this scope, but I already have mine, and modified it to work so I'm happy with it, but I don't recommend it. I don't like the pop-up turrets. They pop up accidentally and you lose your zero.

If I had to do over again, I think I'd go with an 18" upper, as light as possible. I would also skip getting any scope with any type of BDC reticle, because they are too busy. I know the DOPE on the rounds I use, and prefer to just dial in the drop. .75 MOA high at 100 yards = dead on at 220 with my 40 grain V-max rounds, for instance.

I have a foxpro spit-fire. It was around $150 I think. It works and you can put whatever sounds you want on it up to 24 sounds, but you can carry as many memory chips as you want, so it's really unlimited. You can also put an external speaker. I don't really use it for coyotes much, but I like to have it for crow calling and the siren locator.

Hope that gives you some ideas. I'm happy with my setup....just after using it for a while, those are the changes I'd make.

Congrats. You are now hooked.

I hunt with a RRA predator Persuit and love it. Hunting with an AR makes it easier to take multiple shots if needed. One thing I've been working on is trying to stay down on the scope to acquire multiple targets.

Good job on the dog. Fox pro cs is the best. I left my caller on the roof of my truck and drove off. It smacked te ground and stopped working. I told them what happened and they fixed it for free. Couldn't believe it. An ar works fine, a shotgun is a lot more fun though.

YOTAMAN, Dave is right.... Never, ever, even TOUCH a mangy coyote. They are HIGHLY risky at transferring the parasites to you &/or your pets at home. And they can be deadly to humans(although rare) but most definitely to your pets. Do NOT let anyone tell you otherwise.
